Glenville Edges St. Edward in Epic Rematch, 28-27
In an intense Thursday night clash at Baldwin Wallace, Glenville narrowly defeated St. Edward, 28-27, in a thrilling rematch between two state champions. This showdown marked a stark contrast from their earlier meeting in August, when St. Edward dominated Glenville, 35-7, and stifled their run game.
Glenville's offense came alive in the rematch, rushing for 197 yards, powered by standout performances from senior running back D'Shawn Newell and sophomore quarterback LaMarques Greenwood II. Greenwood stepped in after an injury to junior quarterback Arvell Nelson Jr., leading the Tarblooders with critical plays down the stretch.
The decisive moment came with 4:11 remaining in the game. Greenwood executed a 4-yard touchdown run and converted a two-point attempt with quarterback keepers to both his left and right, giving Glenville a 28-21 lead. St. Edward battled back, but fell just short, sealing Glenville's hard-fought victory.
